Be Still and Know: Rest in the Midst of Upheaval
Psalm 46
1. We don’t need to be afraid of upheaval. Our unrivaled and steadfastly-devoted Lord is with us and for us (vss. 1-7).
Romans 8:16-23
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known. - John 1:14, 18 (ESV)
Mark 4:35-41
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe. A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination. - Proverbs 18:10–11 (ESV)
2. We don’t need to be afraid of present circumstances or the unknown future. Our unrivaled and steadfastly-devoted Lord is with us and for us (vss. 8-11).
And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” - Revelation 5:9–10 (ESV)
Revelation 21-22
