Colossians 2:8-10
- We are constantly bombarded with empty and harmful temptations to find our satisfaction and security in things other than Christ.
A. Let us be vigilant toward and discerning of the dangers (vs. 8).
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel - not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. - Galatians 1:6–8 (ESV)
“I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.” - John 17:15–18(ESV)
B. Let us embrace and rest in Jesus every day (vss. 9-10).
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. - Galatians 5:1 (ESV)
Ephesians 3:14-21
